facilities
The Kuopio Music Centre's facilities are of high standard offering a wide range of possibilities when organizing events of various types and sizes.
The versatile facilities of the centre are practically located around the 4-story high Hall of Light. The Music Centre's pride is the 1064-seater Concert Hall the acoustics of which was designed by professor Alpo Halme. The result has been widely recognized and the hall adjusts perfectly both for classical and light music. The hall has attracted many renowned orchestras to give concerts in Kuopio, such as the London BBC Filharmonia, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra from St. Petersburg and Academy of St. Martin in the Fields). Also due to the successful acoustics many leading international record companies have decided to do their recordings at the Music Centre Concert Hall.
The acoustics and the size of the Concert Hall and Chamber Music Hall serve optimally not only to the music enthusiasts but also event and meeting organizers when added with state-of-the-art technical equipment.
The compact yet open floor plan of the centre enables several smaller events and meetings to be organized in different parts of the centre simultaneously or to utilize the whole capacity of the centre in executing a larger scale conference or a happening.
The house offers also numerous other stages for different purposes.
